Technical Data Analyst (Tel Aviv)

Overview

We’re looking for a Technical Data Analyst who loves digging into complex datasets and turning chaos into clarity. This role sits right between Data Engineering and Business Intelligence, perfect for someone who wants to build, not just analyze.

At Parametrix, we process massive volumes of third-party data including cloud downtime logs, API performance metrics, cyber events in order to measure and price digital risk. Your job is to take this raw, messy data, clean and structure it using solid engineering practices, and turn it into the trusted source that powers our underwriting models, risk analytics, and payouts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write SQL and Python scripts to extract, transform, and model data from our raw data lake.
  • Partner with our data scientists to validate and improve the quality of data used in pricing our parametric insurance products.
  • Own and optimize lightweight ETL/ELT processes (dbt, Airflow, or similar).
  • Create clear, dynamic dashboards (Looker/Tableau/Superset) to help the Product and Sales teams see global cloud stability and exposure at a glance.
  • Monitor data streams for anomalies, missing feeds, or integrity issues — ideally, you’ll catch them before anyone else does.

The Tech Stack You'll Use

  • Languages: SQL (expert), Python (Pandas, NumPy, API integration).
  • Transformation: dbt or equivalent.
  • Data Warehouse: Snowflake / BigQuery / Redshift.
  • Visualization: Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Version Control: Git (you commit your analysis code).

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience where you handled both the analysis and the preparation of data.
  • Can write a Python script to hit an API, parse the JSON, and load it into a database.
  • Understand window functions, complex joins, and query optimization.
  • Curious about how systems fail. You find it interesting to analyze why a specific cloud region went down.
  • Experience in FinTech, Insurtech, or Cyber Security is a plus
  • Familiarity with cloud monitoring data (Datadog, CloudWatch, ThousandEyes, etc.)
